ABOUT IQAC


The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a significant body within any higher education institution. It is responsible for ensuring continuous improvement in all aspects of academic and administrative functioning. The role of IQAC is pivotal in establishing a quality culture and ensuring that the institution complies with the guidelines of quality standards set by accrediting bodies such as NBA, NAAC  in India or equivalent organizations in other countries.

 

Objectives of IQAC

1. Quality Benchmarking

  • Establish quality benchmarks for various academic and administrative activities.
  • Develop quality standards for effective teaching-learning processes, research, and

   student support services.

2. Promotion of Innovative Practices

  • Promote innovative teaching-learning methods to improve student learning outcomes,

   including the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology).

  • Foster research culture and encourage interdisciplinary projects that integrate

   engineering with management.

3. Enhancing Student Engagement

  • Encourage students to participate in co-curricular, extra-curricular, and social responsibility activities.
  • Provide platforms for students to engage with real-world challenges through internships, industrial visits, and live projects.

4. Faculty Development

  • Regularly organize faculty development programs (FDPs), workshops, and seminars to enhance teaching competencies.
  • Support faculty in attending conferences, publishing research, and participating in collaborative industry projects.

5. Curriculum Review and Development

  • Regularly review and update the curriculum of both engineering and MBA programs to ensure relevance with current industry trends and technologies.
  • Encourage an interdisciplinary approach by introducing joint engineering and management courses, integrating technology with business strategies.

6. Research and Consultancy

  • Establish quality benchmarks for research output and promote collaboration with industries for research consultancy and projects.
  • Create platforms for the dissemination of research through conferences, publications, and collaborations with other institutions.

7. Feedback Mechanism

  • Implement a robust feedback system to collect feedback from students, parents, alumni, industry experts, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions to enhance quality.

8. Industry Collaboration and Global Linkages

  • Strengthen linkages with industries, both locally and globally, to create opportunities for students through internships, placements, and industry-sponsored projects.
  • Collaborate with international institutions for student exchange programs, joint research projects, and cross-cultural exposure.

9. Quality Audits and Assessments

  • Conduct internal and external audits of academic, administrative, and financial processes to ensure adherence to quality norms.
  • Prepare for accreditation by NAAC, NBA (National Board of Accreditation), and other bodies to ensure that the institution remains competitive globally.

10. Infrastructure and Learning Resources

  • Continuously upgrade infrastructure, including laboratories, libraries, and other learning resources to ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Promote the use of digital tools and learning management systems to enhance the teaching-learning experience. 

 

Functions of IQAC

  • Develop strategic action plans to improve quality across academic and administrative functions. 

3. Workshops and Seminars

  • Organize workshops and seminars on quality-related themes to promote awareness and enhance capabilities within the  institution.
