Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC)

 

The Student Grievance Redressal Committee at the institute has been established to provide a mechanism for redressal of student’s grievances, complaints, malpractices and ensure transparency within the system. The function of the committee is to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and investigate into its facts and authenticity. Any student with a grievance or a complaint may approach the committee in-charge in person. In case the student is not willing to appear in self, grievances may be conveyed via email to the committee in-charge as well as may be dropped in writing at the suggestion box of the department.

The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing in the format available on the website and drop it in the suggestion box or submit it in person to the committee in-charge.

 

Objectives of Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC)

 

⮚     Encouraging the Students to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized. 

⮚     Maintaining the dignity of the institute by ensuring strife free atmosphere within the campus through promoting cordial student-student relationship and student-teacher relationship, etc.

⮚     To ensure that grievances are addressed and resolved promptly and in complete confidentiality.

⮚     To ensure effective solution to the student’s grievances with an impartial and fair approach.

⮚     Guiding students of the institute to respect the right and dignity of everyone around and demonstrate utmost restraint and patience whenever any occasion of rift rises.

⮚     Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in and outside the institution. Any violation of ragging and disciplinary rules should be immediately brought to the notice of Grievance Committee In -charge / Head of the Department.

 

Scope:

The Committee will deal with grievances/complaints of the students received in writing on any of the following matters: -

⮚     Academic matters (teaching-learning)

⮚     Non-academic matters (Infrastructure, Hygiene, General facilities, etc.)

⮚     Personal matters (discrimination, sexual harassment, student-student harassment, etc)

 

 

Functions:

⮚     The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students. The committee will review all the cases and will act accordingly as per the management policy.

⮚     The committee will give report to the authority about the cases attended to and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.
