R&D and Project Lab under Department of CSE The primary objective of the R&D and project lab is to facilitate and support development of projects, products or techniques/technology aimed at specific end use. The R & D and project lab stresses on clearly identifying the needs for the progress of the technology so that the growth-specific efforts could be useful for the overall development of students. It envisages active student involvement and association in the development effort. The intention is that the products/technologies developed under the project by the students become useful for the benefit of the people at large. The lab will be helpful to inculcate research-based skills in the students. The lab will also help students to apply latest research techniques in their ongoing projects. Some of the activities and targets of R & D and project Lab are as follows: Basic Research Applied Research Development Research Innovation and Entrepreneurship Design and Development R&D as a Source of Idea Nurturing research-based skills. Facilities Utilization Desktop Computers - 10 For project development MFD LaserJet – 1 For printing of study material Aakash Tablets – 200 For Android based application development and testing Apple Mini Server – 5 For iOS-based application development Mobile handsets - Android, iOS and Windows OS based For Mobile app testing e-yantra Kit For hands-on learning on concepts in Embedded systems and Robotics Internet For web browsing e-yantra Lab under Department of CSE IoT lab is setup with the aim to encourage students to learn with IOT technology, rather than merely learning about the IOT. Internet of Things represents an ideal basis for a wide--‐ranging and rigorous introduction to computing, from algorithms to networks, from hardware architectures to big data. Using the Internet of Things as a foundation for teaching computer science also encourages a participative and collaborative pedagogic approach. e-Yantra – a project in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), IIT Bombay - is a flagship project of MHRD through the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) to spread Embedded systems and Robotics education in colleges across India. It is designed as a scalable and sustainable approach that addresses infrastructure creation and teacher training – to create an eco-system at the colleges to impart effective engineering education. Vaibhav Gupta, Sahil Arora, Hari Om Singh, Rupesh Kumar won the e-Yantra Robotics competition (2018-2019) held at IIT Bombay in the theme Homecoming (Team ID 172). e-Yantra Ideas Competition (eYIC)-2019 Heartiest congratulations to MAIT team to become the most proactive teams of e-Yantra TBT-2018. eLSI-2018 | Two days workshop atIIT Bombay under the e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI) program. eYRC-2017 |CSE students won first prize at e-Yantra (eYRC-2017) Robotics Competition. R&D lab under Department of ECE The Innovative Research Laboratory (IRL) in the department of Electronics and Communication (ECE) is well equipped. It has two advanced servers and 8 computer systems with latest configuration. There are two advanced simulators, one is Silvaco ATLAS 3D device simulator and the other one is Visual TCAD device simulator. The students are working on various devices such as:- Junctionless Double Surrounding Gate (JLDSG) MOSFET, Gate Engineered Gate Stack Schottky Barrier Gate All Around MOSFET and Junctionless Accumulation Mode Cylindrical Surrounding Gate MOSFET. There have been numerous publications and innovations in terms of patents and journals, from this laboratory.
